Crock by the now very easy route

Since the clearing of trees has now all but denuded Crock there is no need for detailed guidance of the ascent once past Tulloch. As to the walk in and out I think the Cateran Trail offers the best approach, albeit longer. Indeed, on the day of my walk the shorter route from West Freuchie was closed...

Great report and helpful pics other than the one where you say '....first view of Broadcairn.' The pic actually shows Lochnagar and Little Pap - Broadcairn will have been visible for the past half hour as you climb up from the Roy Tait Memorial Bridge.

The former broken down fence has been replaced but at least there is a high stile for crossing. Unfortunately more recent fencing means that it isn't possible to ascend directly from the point suggested but need to continue on the track until gate with high stile is reached and then make the best wa...
