Re: Trig point removal

Hi Rn1. You seem to be a bit of a one-trick pony. I smell shite. You haven't posed as a gamekeeper on a similar forum in the past have you? If not, then sorry, and I wish you the best in your one man crusade  Ha! I nearly spate me coffee on the screen. Guess the memory is still sore wit...

Re: Gleann Dubh Lighe bothy destroyed in fire

I'm pleased (if that's the word) to be able to say that this was a genuine accident (involving a leaking gas cylinder), no-one was hurt and the person involved contacted us immediately afterwards. A leaking gas cylinder as in a camping gas one how the hell did that burn the place down is unbelievab...

Re: Whats your worst mistake on the hills?

Grabing my mate sat next to me when holding a fall winter climbing. Got pulled off the ledge and just reached out automatically. We were ok but my mate wasnt hooked up and went the distance. He was physically ok but never climbed again. He did come with me to climb at lands end point during the sola...

Re: Mull Logistics

I got off the ferry spring 2010 to find that there is not a bus for every ferry and ended up waiting for the next ferry to arrive which did have a bus running. There was about a dozen other folks in the same position. Ended up hammered in the boozer. Got off the bus eventually and was chased up the ...

Re: Wind Farms

I love it when you get a punter that thinks he can run our country better than anyone else but instead decides to just sit on social network sites talking like a politician. Why dont you send them a letter they might just think "Feck! what were we thinking this blokes right" To be ho...

Re: Wind Farms

Even though I have had a PM telling me to "sort my line" from someone with an obvious hate of the turbines I would like to add one point: Who sits punching keyboards talking P##h and gets nothing done out of it! Who gets these built because they WORK! (We wouldnt do it otherwise. no one wi...

Re: Wind Farms

Co2 is used for fires with electrical goods. For obvious reasons! The problem with Co2 is it odour less and moves very fast starving everything of oxygen. One tank on the railway has a far worse effect than anything else coming from Hunterston. (Spent fuel) You can google it on carbon capture power ...

Re: Wind Farms

Interesting "oldcodger" doesnt say where he lives or his answer to our energy problem. I really like the idea of carbon capture power stations but I hear a Carbon dioxide is something very lethal when in compressed captured state. Nothing particularly lethal about compressed CO2 as far as...

Re: Elbrus : The highest in Europe. Part 3 : The Deathly door!

Eh! how can you say that. Its the the highest mountain in our continent. It should be high in the list of to dos for any mountaineer/ suppose walker/ stretching a bit I suppose for those folks that think a round of a hill list is an achievement  Its probably out the park for most munro baggers ...

Re: Dogs out of control

I remember I thought I had trained wee Gus as a puppy to crap outside. One day I found him sneaking out from under the stairs where I found loads of turds. I had only trained him to think "dont **** in front of me"!
