Ben Wyvis #6

#6 Ben Wyvis - set off from car park around 8.15am pleasantly warm with low cloud and fog and a touch of drizzle, waterproof was on for all of about 10 minutes before overheating. First part of the walk is a relatively easy path up through the woods and valley, then the hard work starts, steep seemi...

Beinn Ghlas & Ben Lawers

Munro #4 & #5 We set off on our short break to Perthshire, fully expecting to need full wet weather gear, and getting photos at the top that could have been taken anywhere, but instead hubby came back with sun burn. We landed so lucky I am well chuffed. The walk up through the nature trail is ve...

Innerwick & Bridge of Balgie, Glen Lyon

A short break in Perthshire for a couple of days, nice little walk to stretch the legs after being in the car for a couple of hours. Some lovely views up and down Glen Lyon. And the tea shop sandwich made for a perfect lunch. Carrot cake well worth the walk, huge yummy slab :D

Mount Keen

Set off from car at 11.30am, wasnt sure that we werent going to get caught in a couple of showers of rain at some point but turned out to be a fine day for walking, if not a little warm at points. Lochnagar

Set off only to walk around Loch Muick, but Alistair suggested exploring a bit of the path up to Lochnagar to see if it would be possible to make a future walk easier by taking the bikes some of the way in, but the weather was looking good so we just kept going. By the time we got to the top of the ...

The Colonel's Bed, Inverey

02/05/2010 - Cold about 5 deg c and dull day, threatened to snow at one point. Nice walk in an area I want to explore more. Nice easy start to get some mileage in the legs, without too much effort. Got some nice photographs but tree overhangs sometimes spoiled what could have been even better photos...

Loch Garten & Garten Woods

19/04/2010 - Did the Loch Garten & Garten Woods walk suggested, route information was very easy to follow. Nice walk on a cold but sunny day (thought it was going to snow when we left home). Took the de-tour to the Osprey Centre, our second visit in as many years, two eggs in the nest and both O...
