Beinn Bhuidhe

Glad I took my bike...long way in. Quite boggy but good views on ascent but as usual didn't take many photos - no views from summit. 2 other walkers on hill.

Cruach Ardrain & Beinn Tulaichean

Only my third outing of the year and decided to head towards Crianlarich to tackle this pair. The weather was fantastic and as a result there were stunning views to be had wherever you looked. Route is very straightforward starting from the lay by opposite Keilator Farm on the A82 and the only negat...

Re: Harris: Bleabhal, Beinn Dhubh and Sleiteachal Mhor

Thanks for sharing this Foggie. I hope to be on Harris in August and your report and great photos already have me making plans. I do enjoy sea views from my hills and you certainly get that on Harris.

Did you do any climbs in the North Harris hills?

Cheers,

David

Schiehallion

Weather forecast had been good.......but turned out another summit with no views. Thats 2 in a row now. Straightforward walk with very clear path until you reach the boulders. Very busy hill, but I'm not often up the hills at the weekend. Had hoped to do Glen Lyon Horseshoe while in the area - some ...

Beinn Chabhair (hard slog) from Inverarnan

First walk of the year, and I must admit not one I will look back on with too many fond memories. Apart from a misty summit the weather was pretty good and I worked up a fair sweat getting to the Falls - too many layers, stopped to shed one. The path is steep and quite badly eroded in this section a...

Re: Beinn Ime

Blueyed...you got me checking my times now. Left succoth at 0920 and got back at 1330 and sent text to Mrs Dmack at 1335 to let her know I was down safe and to put my life insurance policy away (she remains hopeful). As I said I was too cold to hang about much and am a bit OCD about time keeping. Al...

Re: Beinn Ime

Merrywalker - took me 4hrs 10mins, was going pretty quick (for me anyway) on descent to get back home for kids coming out of school.

Kevsbald - good tip on the caramel wafer. I really have to sort out my clothing, I went from too warm to too cold back to too warm.

Cheers

Beinn Ime

This was my first walk for nearly 7 weeks due to being busy at work, terrible weather on days off and assorted family commitments. Also admit to being a bit apprehensive about tackling hills in Winter, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one...don't know how my legs will be tomorrow though. The walk itsel...

An Caisteal & Beinn a'Chroin

Miserable day with no views, couldn't see where I was going or where I'd been - good path though. Long walk through loads of bogs back to car. In spite of all that I quite enjoyed the walk. Should go back in better weather. Photos rubbish.

From another fossil - 29 years between Cairngorm and Ben Lomond. I was only 14 though, school camp.

Uiseval, Beinn a'Chaolais, Toddun - Harris

Harris in October and the sun was shining, it was warm and no wind...I still can't believe it. With only 3 full days on the Island an agreement was reached with Mrs Dmack that saw me get a hill pass for one day, I suppose I could have gone to arbitration - but I thoroughly enjoyed a day at the beach...

Re: Harris

Thanks very much for the responses...some great suggestions. A day in the North Harris hills around Sron Ulladale would be fantastic, I just hope the weather gods are on my side. Will only have 3 full days on the island though and lots of relatives to visit. Hope to get to Harris in May next year as...
