Set off early in the morning; arriving at Maggies Bridge car park at about 0745. Walked along the bridleway and through High Nook Farm before walking out onto the fells.
I followed the path around the fell side before following a fence line up the fell and to the summit of Gavel Fell. If you are walking this way take care as the fence has recently been replaced; and there is a lot of old wire from the old fence abandoned on the fell side.
The view at the summit of Gavel Fell was unfortunatley non existant as the cloud had just settled in. Nevermind!
I again followed the fence line along the fell side before climbing to the summit of Blake Fell, where I had a brief break in the summit shelter. Quite windy, and lovely views of the inside of a cloud!
From there I came down from Blake fell, passing Carling Knott and up onto Burnbank Fell. By now the cloud had lifted a bit and I was given some decent views of Loweswater and the tip of Crummock as i descended from Burnbank.
After a short walk through the woods above Loweswater we arrived at the lake shore, where we wandered along the path back to Maggies Bridge.
A decent mornings walk, and another three Wainwrights down!
