This Weekend 12th/13th February

Postby jupe1407 » Tue Feb 09, 2016 1:31 pm

It looks like a nice clear and crisp weekend coming up, although bloody cold.

I'm contemplating a trip up the A9 to stay at the very pleasant bunkhouse at Tulloch Station for the second time in a fortnight (hopefully minus hilariously poor driving conditions this time).

Back-of-a-fag-packet plans thus far:

Friday: The dreaded eastern Drumochter pair, Carn na Caim and A'Bhu.... Bheag. Usually boggy in places but the soft stuff will almost certainly be frozen over, making for hopefully easyish progress.

Saturday: Probably the Beinn a'Chaorainn/Beinn Teallach pair from Roughburn, although I have tonnes of options in that area.

Anyone welcome to join me. This is likely my last outing before my knee op on 7th March, which means I'm not going to be ridiculously quick by any stretch

I could be tempted by the Saturday (I've no interest in repeating what you've planned on Friday   )

Cool, give me a shout if you're in the area and fancy a walk. I've only done the Creag Meagaidh in Glen Spean so far.

Forecast still decent for the area. Windy and cold but dry. It'll either be those two from Roughburn or one of the pairs from Fersit.

Going to go for the Beinn Teallach/Beinn a'Chaorainn pair from Roughburn on Saturday. I'll be aiming to set off about 9am from the usual start point if anyone's coming along.

Anyone wishing to join me on Friday for the thrilling pair of Carn na Caim and A'Bhudheaneach Bheag - i'm aiming to be at layby 87 for 9:30am

Cheers.

Sorry Jupe, working tomorrow but, we broke a pretty good trail for you, or perhaps the 4 guys behind us did, if not too much snow tonight. Was plenty snow from low down, of variable quality and depth (no need for crampons, or axe). I for one, found it very hard work, but worth the unbelievable views ..... if you get same waeather as earlier today :D

Good luck!
