Well done on managing the stony beach. Having a mum with osteo arthritis I know what an achievement that is!

Thank you and, yes, I feel it was an achievement negotiating the beach

Thank you, it did seem to be a good place to sit and a pity I couldn't explore further :D

Hi Susie

Your heading immediately caught my eye as I lived for my first 17 years in Elgol, before leaving home to work, get married......

Your great report and smashing photos took me back to the shore at Elgol - our school was to the immediate right of your first photo and the school wall bordered onto the foreshore.

You have made my day.

Thank you

THANK YOU, that's made my day as well. I first went to Elgol in 1970 and it was such a wonderful place that I always wanted to go back. We spent a few hours there 3 years ago but, this time, hired a cottage up the road and had a whole week with absolutely fantastic views :D I actually managed to get back onto the beach a few days later and the sea was flat calm

Ah - Elgol. Surely one the most magnificent views in Scotland. Not too close and not too far away from the Cuillin.

You got some great moody photos there.

Well worth a boat trip from there on a good day.
