Fri27th, left Old Kilpatrick about 8.30pm with David. Uncle Arthur ran us up to Duck Bay. No lifts so walked on. Getting dark. Pitched tent eventually near Blarglas (GR347865).

Saturday 28th
Glorious morning, up at 4? Ate some pieces and down to main road immediately. Very few cars but third one stopped and its young couple took us right to Glencoe, where we started up the path towards Glen Etive at 7:30. Clear blue sky and warm sun inspired us as we climbed the east flank of Beinn Fhada. On reaching the ridge, Ben Nevis sprang into view as though only a mile away. David struggling a little, so, after taking panoramic photos and reaching the end of Fhada, he returned down the east flank.
Gaining the east ridge proved tricky but thereafter it was easy climbing. Views all round limitless and stupendous. Every peak in Scotland seemed to stick up before my eyes. Climbed the summit of Bidean properly this time after checking where Robin and I had made the mistake in January.
Gingerly descended hard snow ridges towards Stob Coire nan Lochain and took panoramic view of Bidean's north face. Ate whatever food was left and departed at 1pm for the Lost Valley. Crossed huge snow patch with care, as no ice axe, and dropped into valley. Very impressive but no longer 'lost' unfortunately. Several climbers on rock faces and at valley mouth. Fantastic track down to footbridge 3.45. Soon found David on main road and walked up to retrieve rucksacks. Both of us well suntanned. Lifted to Bridge of Orchy then long wait followed by a lift to Dumbarton. Bus back to Old Kilpatrick. Excellent trip over all.
