So on a nice March morning, Karen and me headed off to Sunny Dumbarton to do this walk that Karen had found online.

Staring out in at the corner of Crosslet Road and Bonhill Road, we headed up to the A82 and followed the signs through Crosslet and out into the country. The route is pretty much well signed all the way, apart from one bit.

The path takes you past Overtoun House before you head off along the path, which takes you along in front of the crags themselves. Turning to the right the path leads up through the trees, and when you come out, it's a right turn and mud mud mud for about 100 yards.

Continuing upwards, you arrive at the top of the crags, and below you, you can see the path you came along. There are some great views.

The rest of the route is fairly easy, follow the line of the fence along the top of the crags. There's one point where there's a couple of paths that people have walked. The obvious one, actually leads to an edge, and you'd have to scramble down. Don't. If you keep following the line of the fence, you'll go back into some trees, and once out the other side, there's some sign posts again. After that it's muddy farm paths back into Milton.

Once on the main road again, cross the road and follow the signs for cycle path 7, back to Dumbarton.
