The river surfer -what oddities have you seen in the hills?

Sarah and I took a short walk beside a section of the Kananaskis river yesterday, the melt-water was a beautiful blue colour and icy cold, we saw a few kayaks as expected but then...this..............

Surfing on an icy river  I talked to the lad and he said he was surfing in South America last week....he noted it was a bit warmer there

So.....what unusual sights have you come across whilst out wandering the hills

August 2010. We were having lunch at the beach at the far end and a young couple were loitering around. We carried on after lunch and after a short while turned around to look at the view and there they were, both naked on the beach taking photos of each other frolicking near the water.

I was wandering in the middle of nowhere on Skye when I saw a caver, in full drysuit, harness and helmet with miners' lamp, etc. , covered in crap, wandering off the moor, blinking like a mole in the sunlight.
One of the strangest must be when the Rev A.E. Robertson was wandering in the Galloway Hills; he came across a party of hundreds of marines, dragging the hulk of a huge airship which had crashed landed in the moors, just after the Great War.

Daftest thing I've seen was a group of four blokes carting kayaks up Helvellyn from the Swirls Car Park. It was very windy and clag ridden on the top. I suppose they could have been doing it for a bet but when I heard one yell above the wind "I think we better get the map out" I wasn't so sure. :?

Wooden Oddities.
This one I titled "An Ent by the Nent". This tree is by the River Nent between Blagill and Alston.

This "giant centipede" can be found beside Rowantree Beck which flows into the Selset Reservoir in Lunedale, Teesdale.

I will be happy to read any other captions for these pictures.
Has anyone else seen, or photographed similar "freaks of nature"?
