sutherland weekend

Looking for some ideas... I'm heading up this weekend to camp at Dornoch and hope to get some good walking in. Initial plan is for Ben Hope on Saturday and Ben Klibreck on Sunday. Is it possible to combine them on a single day, any other recommendations? Remember the last time I was up there I spotted a lovely looking hill on the way to Tongue.

Hey there. Hope and Klibreck are possible in a day, myself and a couple others did this a few years ago. Fairly long day but definitely achievable as both are short/mid-length days. Perhaps the nice looking peak you spotted was Ben Loyal? It's an absolutely stunning mountain.

Yes, Ben Hope and Ben Klibreck can be combined in day.

The 'lovely looking hill' could be Foinaven, I've not done it yet but believe it to be well worth doing.

I hope I'm not too late with this reply.

If you get a varied forecast for Ben Hope and Ben Klibreck, the locals in Altnaharra recommend doing Klibreck when the better weather's expected. Especially regarding the wind.

Enjoy Sutherland!

Thanks for the advice folks. A last minute change of plan took me to Skye instead and ended up doing Bla Bheinn. My hundredth munro and a lovely day it was. Weather, suitably wild! Saving Sutherland for long weekend in June :D
