Lightweight, very breathable summer windproof jacket?

Lightweight, very breathable summer windproof jacket?

Postby adamarchie » Thu Apr 19, 2012 12:16 pm

Hi folks,

I'm looking to get a windproof jacket for summer use. Priorities would be:

- as cool and breathable as possible, including vents/front zips
- a pocket (or two) for map/compass/etc which is/are located at chest height: I tend to climb with hip belt on
- a hood would be an added bonus but not strictly necessary

I'm 6'2" and would be using it for a mixture of hillwalking, scrambling and climbing (and I sweat a lot!) Wouldn't quite say money no object, but am prepared to fork out for something good that's going to last a long time.

Any advice much appreciated!

Cheers,
Adam

Paramo has a windproof with such features for about £70 and it's fairly close to being waterproof, esp if you treat it with a bit of TX direct. can't remember the name for it.
