Pam and I set off from Berwick Upon Tweed with a small goal of scaling Allermuir hill.

We arrived shortly before 12am and set off from Hillend Car Park near the ski centre in glorious sunshine with our goal firmly ahead. As usual the first 10 minutes where hard going on the legs till we warmed up.

We reached Caerktton hill after roughly 30 minutes followed by the summit after an hour and 15 minutes, affording us glorious views over the capital, with Ben Lommond just visible in the far distance.

We continued on towards Fala Knowe and Castlelaw Hill, before heading down towards Castlelaw farm and then a well-worn track to boghall, another steep ascent onto Caerktton hill and back into the carpark at Hillend.

All told a nice walk affording great views
