Uill hallo a' ribhist a h uile daoine .... decided to stay close to home this weekend and being a lucky laddie to live in Suaineart is A Mharbhairne myself and Mrs Colla comhla ris "an Cu" headed to Beinn Mheadhoin a 793m hill above the Morvern coast line and overlooking Eilean Lios Mór.

I m only 20mins from some great we coastal hills ,remote and very samhach or quiet :D

We set of at 12 midday an t side warm and sunny :) and the start point is at Loch Uisge a flooded loch which is part of a Hydro scheme

The path disappears near the brim of Coire Salachain the rest of the way is with dry rough bent and heather taking you over a number of false summits very good walking with some nice wee scrabbles on rocky outcrops and a clutch of wee Lochans adding to the interest

The old saying that height is no everything was very appropriate on Beinn Mheadhoin she is'nt the tallest but she is finely placed and an equal to many a munro.I noticed a lot of ground on and near the summit that would be grand camping spots with a good view East for sunrise over the mainland mountains and West for the setting over the Islands ..that is for my next visit to this fine summit :D

Is lardarna gach cu air a shitig fhéin

Have only ever been in the Roshven area, and a drive round to both Smokehouses. Stunning area, as you mentioned, for sunsets. Worth a wee trip at sometime in the future 8)
Cheers.

You are indeed very lucky to have that area so close to your doorstep.
