Out on the farm

Went for a walk in Aberdeen and visited Doonies Rare Breeds Farm, just south of the city near Girdle Ness. Highly recommended to anyone who has an hour to spare.

You're welcome :D It's such a great place. Unfortunately the Clydesdale Horses down by the railway lines were so popular, I couldn't get a clear photo, that was the only downside :(

While you're there, the point at the lighthouse is a good place to look out for dolphins - sometimes they come right into the mouth of Aberdeen harbour.

Aye, a great spot to watch them from too is the Torry Battery. Saw them last time escorting ships in and out of the harbour.

Oh it must of been a lovely day to be out down the coast.. I'm so jealous! Nice pictures as well..
I've never been to Doonies, but I quite often go out the cliffs scrambling, and see all the animals in the surrounding fields. I once fell asleep leaning against a fence post on a sunny day, only to awaken with a bull slobbering all over my face.. Just about kecked ma breaks!

£4 per adult, and you can buy a bucket of carrots to feed the animals for 50p. It was a perfect day weatherwise too. And all the animals are posers, they know humans = feed time  Lots of baby animals there at the moment too.

Just back from the Pets Corner at Hazelhead Park. Here's some more animals we saw.

I whistled to it and it sang back at me

Best things at the park. They love the tops of their heads being patted.
