Congratulations to Kenton Cool on his 10th Everest Summit!

Congratulations to Kenton Cool on his 10th Everest Summit!

Earlier today Kenton made it to the summit of Everest for the 10th time.

It was an extra special achievment this time as he was taking an Olympic Gold Medal to the summit. One which was given to members of an earlier British Everest expedition (1922) who sadly never made it to the top.

At the start of 2012 Kenton lost his original sponsors for this years expedition. Since then he has been very determined, and has worked extremely hard to make sure the expedition still went ahead as planned.

Kenton has been on the summit of Everest more times than any other Brit. Congratulations and very, very well done mate!

Well done to him. Kenton Cool is a brilliant mountaineer and making a living guiding up Everest beats sitting at the desk I'm at.

But Everest is over-hyped. Was laughing this morning at Andy Kirkpatricks take on it:

Never mind Kenton, that was my mate Keith filming him - and he didn't need nine rehearsals first!

Don't think I could have coped with the queues. I'd have given up and gone somewhere else

(Seriously congrats to Kenton and thanks for fulfilling that 1924 promise - a true Brit - and congrats too to Keith, a friend of a friend who accompanied him to film the climb)
