NB. This board is for reports on multi-day long distance routes - reports on simply long walks should be added to the standard boards.
Warning Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.

Our wishes and hopes for good weather were met and then some. The weather was scorching we hardly saw a cloud after the second day. I found the route a bit more challenging than I expected but with care it proved do able. I was taking on 6 litres of water a day due to the heat. For a 48 year old the 5 day hike was pushing my capabilities but the feeling of achievement I now have is fantastic. ( and the bragging rights over my 19 year old son :D )
