West side of Loch Striven

West side of Loch Striven

As part of a walk round the coast of Scoland I have come to my first slightly major obstacle - the west side of Loch Striven.
Anyone got any tips on walking from the head of Loch Striven down to Colintravie? Along the shore with the tide out or thru the trees above the shoreline or over the tops of the hills and down either to Troustan and along the road or direct to Colintravie (where I will have parked as I've already walked a stage from there ).
