So far we've stuck to level 3 hill routes. We walk with our dogs in harness and they're not always the best behaved dogs in the world. I wouldn't want to go anywhere where we have to walk close to sheer drops. (To be honest, I'm not the braves person with heights anyway!). We don't mind how difficult it is with regards to steep, long climbs. Scrambling is OK if it's not going to be fatal if you fall! Our dogs could spot a rabbit and suddenly yank us in any direction at any time and we have to take account of that when deciding upon what's suitable. They're only little dogs, but can knock you off-balance easily.

We're running out of three's (that appeal) and starting on the 4's. Can anyone suggest some that might fit the bill. Around Loch Lomond and the trossachs, Arrochar Alps, Glencoe....

Shorter is best with not-too-tricky navigation. Hubby is into photography so photogenic routes go down best!

Hard to beat the Cobbler if you're looking in the Arrochar area. If you get a day with great weather, it will no doubt be a memorable walk . . . it was for me and some of the WH gang anyway. http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16683

The wee Buachaille sounds just the ticket. The ridge looks a bit scary from further away but it is really quite wide enough for cowards like myself.

and my report of our visit, with dog.
