Kintail Tick population????

Hi :D Any one out there who's been around the Kintail area in the last few weeks?? Just wanting to know if they are having a bumper Tick season? I am going up on Thurs with my two collies and just wondering how many bottles of citronella oil to take

I was there the weekend before last, and all the biting insects were plentiful.. Mental midges, a few cleg bites and a half dozen ticks
Citronella doesn't work on ticks unfortunately.. Not many things do.. :(

Hi :D Thanks for that, I use Tick pliers and anti-septic on the dogs. But do seem to find that a lot of the wee beasties up there don't like the smell of citronella, I mix it in with Avon SSS and it seems to keep the midges at bay too

The tick population seems to be pretty bad everywhere at the present time. I have two Collies and I have had to use my little O' Tom Twist Tick remover on a variety of occasions. Just a case of keeping vigilant I suppose.
