With the recent news about the landslip and the plan to upgrade the old military road as an alternative route thought this link may be interesting

Wonder what they will do at hairpin bends - note that truck (and also buses I believe) had to reverse up the final bend

That's a very interesting article , looks like a good website too , I'll have to read more of it . Isn't it amazing how we take for granted being able to motor away up there with barely a thought , two or three generations ago it was a major expedition .
