At the time of writing we're half way through the Olympics with a mighty impressive haul of Gold medals for Team GB. Not everyone has been glued to their TV screens though, as the trip reports from Scotland and overseas have flooded in faster than either as many of you have been making the most of the long summer days on the hills.
The usual walk reports' judge Gareth has escaped to the Olympics (not spotted him competing yet but there's still time
), so the choices fell on us back at Walkhighlands HQ this month, with scores of superb walk reports to choose from. Special mentions to
Lenore who has posted some fantastic reports from her trip to Scotland from the Netherlands, whilst heading out from the UK,
jmarkb has made a whole series of reports with stunning photos that might tempt any of us to head for Norway.
Our runner-up - and £30 to spend at Webtogs - is trekker53 for his scary-looking trip
"Birkenkofel, Sexten Dolomites. A sting in the Tail", one of so many great overseas outings submitted this month. Winner, though, and £60 to spend at Webtogs - goes to old danensian, with
"Uaine nothing but a hound dog" - a trip deep into the Cairngorms.
Many thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences this month - and to competition sponsor
Webtogs, for providing the prizes
