New Boots - The North Face Hedgehog

New Boots - The North Face Hedgehog

Postby chasg22 » Tue Oct 30, 2012 3:29 pm

Go easy as this is my very first post!

I've recently bought a pair of Hedgehog boots, as my trainer version of it is amazingly comfy and done a good job on the WHW last year.

I tried the boots on and they seemed fine, but when I start to walk up hill, I start to get pins and needles and general discomfort from them. I've tried loosening them but this then gives my ankles a bit of a bashing.

After spending money on them I refuse to give up on them and buy a new pair  . Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with any other boots and how they managed to sort it (if they could)?

Leave them loose on ascent and tighten them for the trip down is all I can think of...

Try a different way of lacing

gives some ideas
another is to go from the point at which the vid shows a lock knot then to the top hook and then down

would agree with Gythral - the first/main method in the video is the one I use most often to allow space round the ball of my [wide] foot but keeps the ankle very secure - cheers :)

Agree with above..try different ways of lacing, leaving them looser on the ascent :D
