Looked like weather would break as forecast when we arrived at back of 9. Nice walk in through the farm and round past the river before leaving path at the gate to walk up the slope. About halfway up we hit the snowline and at about the same time the cloud base dropped.

My first time hill walking in deep snow, about 2 feet on top but occasionally a little deeper in the gullies. Hard work out in front especially in the deeper sections. Conditions were not great on top with the hill fog and snow combining to near white out but good practice for navigation. Coming down was most fun, lots of practice using an ice axe to stop descent.
