Ah, the great boot purchase dilemma....your chances of finding anyone who has worn all 3 are rather remote, I'm afraid :(
The most important thing really is the fit, and only you can tell that! Best thing to do is go round a few shops and try on as many as you can.

Not one of you're three boots I know, but for a B1 rated boot I can't see past the Scarpa SL boots, I wear the Old M3 version all year round but I've read reviews of the newer SL Active boots and they seem to be even better. Like jmarkb says though everybody has their own preferences but i'd recommend you try the Scarpas on if you haven't already. The new version also comes out as best in test in this months Trail magazine.

Adamg, scarpa boots just don't fit my feet :( , tried and tested and failed I'm afraid. jmarkb, I would try but am having great trouble finding local stockists so I can try them on for fit, prior to ordering online for a lower price :)

Sorry Rodmeister, read your previous posts on Scarpa issues after writing that... Take it you've tried the different shapes of last available in the SL as well then. Never mind! :D

Sorry, didn't appreciate you were mainly looking for stockists.

For the Alt-Bergs, this might help: http://www.altberg.co.uk/stockists/#scotland
The Lowa Mountain GTX is part of their military range, stockists here: http://www.taskforcedistribution.co.uk/stockists.php
For the Brashers, you could give them a call or drop them an email: http://www.brasher.co.uk/contact

No probs adamg, the Scarpa boots long sold at half price, so don't want to make the same mistake again, so am hoping to try a different make, and hopefully enjoy the winter walking again. That info looks good jmarkb :D , will deffinately try these sites, thanks again :D

Have you looked at the Lowa Stirling GTX. More of a conventional hiking boot. It's what I've got and they've been good to me. Bit heavy but I like that in a boot. Check them out and go-compare them.
