Arochar Alps this Friday, 30/11/12
by audionazar » Wed Nov 28, 2012 10:42 am
Hi everyone. Just discovered I have a bank holiday this Friday! Thought I may head up to the Arochar Alps and bag myself a quick Munro. Feel free to join me. Don't mind solo walking but some company would be nice. Will be leaving Glasgow around 08:00 for 09:30 start (at the latest). Can pick up en route if necessary.

Hello Audionazar, what hill you thinking of climbing?
I attempted Ben Vane on Tuesday and never made it to the top because of snow. For some daft reason I never expected snow so I was not equipped for it. (Idiotic on my part I know!!!). I must have been about 30-40 feet from the top.
I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything on Friday so I might be able to go with you?

Hi Monkeyroy, was hoping to do Beinn Narnain and Ben Ime but don't think there will be time; sunset at 15:50. Happy to do Ben Vane if you want to try a second attempt or any others in the locale.
Will consult the maps etc and PM you later tonight.

How did you get on ? I don't think we will be going much higher than 600m up but would be nice to know if there is more snow about than last weekend. It was nice and chilly this morning!
