Lightweight Waterpoof Jacket

Lightweight Waterpoof Jacket

Postby Avocetboy » Fri Feb 08, 2013 7:07 am

Hi Folks

I am looking for a lightweight, foldaway to nothing, mens waterproof jacket. Looking to spend no more than £130. Currently got my eye on the Montane Minimus Jacket. Like the look and the colour (lime green).

Any suggestions?....You know what its like when you start to look!

Thanks

The Minimus is a great jacket, so you'd not go wrong there.

The Rab Pulse is very similar and worth a look also if you don't mind elasticated cuffs, and can be picked up for £78 at Webtogs at the mo.

Can't fault the Montane Minimus.

I've used the Marmot PreCip jacket for around a year, 90+ days in the hills including wearing the jacket almost continually across the Southern Upland Way, do like the pit zips and it's quite light @ ~300g. I reckon it was a good buy @ £60. Like any other lightweight jacket I don't expect it to last forever (particularly backpacking) but no signs of any deterioration/ defects so far.

Not bringing anything new to the post but totally agree about the montane, love it, great piece of kit, light and takes up no space at all!
