We parked the car at Kilmahog car park to walk along the old railway line and catch as much afternoon sunshine as possible. But we spotted cars parked across the road and went for a look. There was a path marked as a route up Ben Ledi in blue and we were curious as to what it was like and what we'd see. So we wandered up, and up, and up and a bit further and just round the corner and until we could see Ben Ledi again. So we got a view over Loch Venachar, then over Loch Lubnaig and up to Ben Ledi. What a great outlook this forest track has. It eventually crosses the path up from car park at Creag na H-Airde and so you can walk up Ben Ledi too. We stopped at the track's highest point and just soaked up the fantastic view.

Near the bottom of the track, great view across the glen to Ben Ledi.

Then we went back down. Noticed a path heading off round Bochastle Hill so followed it to Dunmore and Sampson's Stone. We weren't wearing boots or we'd have walked up to the top of the fort. We also saw it on the Ben Ledi walk and you can see the ditches better from the northern side. Looks like a fort from there.

Back to the car park at Bochastle then over the road to Kilmahog car park and the car. What an unexpected gem of a walk.
