An interesting day with David S. Started at the usual lay-by/track end on the A817 and followed the the track up towards the small dam. Turned off this and headed directly for the top a little too soon and ended up crossing or avoiding a tedious series of deep gullies on the burns coming down from the bealach between Chaorach and Tharsuinn. Stay on the track until after it crosses the burn just before the dam if you want an easier line towards the summit. Red flags were flying on the slopes across the glen behind us as we climbed and we could hear firing from the army range off and on all the time we were out. As we approached the summit the wind was ferocious, making progress comical and reducing us to a crawl for the last few feet. Great fun! From the top we went down to the dip before Beinn Tarsuinn to find shelter for a picnic, then over Tarsuinn and the 546 point on Auchengaich Hill and back to the car. A shortish day but a grand struggle with the wind.

Slightly breezy today on the summit, visibility poor at best but cleared mid afternoon.
