Any hills right now NOT under loads of snow?

Any hills right now NOT under loads of snow?

Don't have warm enough boots for this kind of weather, just wondering if there are any hills not totally covered in knee high snow!

Lower hills (say around 600m) in the NW Highlands don't seem to have much if any snow right now.

For great photos from around Torridon you should check out Steve Carter's Twitter feed. He posts daily photos from his neck of the wood. Just take a look at this stunner from this morning, showing the snow line on Beinn Alligin & Liathach

Alistair - that photo is amazing and really helpful. I'm sitting at home near Aboyne pondering my options as its continues to snow for the 10+ day in a row here. Great to know that the north west highlands look nae too bad as I'm desperate to get out over the bank holiday weekend, was starting to think a wild camp was to optimistic but those photos give me hope! Getting there may be a different matter in the Lecht is still shut tho....

I think the Lecht pass has been re-opened now (it may have been temporarily closed overnight) - the Aberdeen side stayed closed until more recently but the ski centre on the pass have been open for a few days now. Certainly as I type both sides are open.

I tend to find the winterhighland site above is very efficient at updating when the road's open / closed (when I'm skiing at Glenshee I even use it on my phone to see if lifts on the other side of the ski area have opened yet!).
