Hi, Wondering if anyone can give me a good website for weekend weather. I am looking to head up to Glen Doll this weekend and see what takes my fancy!!. Not really wanting to battle blizzards etc.
Thanks

In addition to Mwis, you might wish to check out www.yr.no , metcheck, Sais (just in case)

All the better for checking reasonably recommended web sites.

Well it depends how keen ou are.. Accuweather is very optimistic, so if I really want to get out, I check there.. ;)
If I cant really be bothered with going out, I check MWIS, as it is the most pessamistic of the forecasts :)
The met office has weather forecasts for individual hills, so it usually is the best for what it will be like at the summit instead of sea level..
I could waffle on, but my point is all the different weather sites have their place..

The two websites I mainly use are MWIS and the Met Office mountain weather (the regional text, not the per hill forecasts). Why? Because these have had some thought and interpretation put into them by human forecasters, and aren't just automatically derived from the computer simulations. Text forecasts are harder to read than nice wee symbols, but there is a lot more useful information in there if you take the trouble. It is worth reading both MWIS and Met Office, since they are derived from different computer simulations, which sometimes don't agree with each other!

MWIS and the Met Office mountain forecasts are better because thought is taken into how local topography and geography affects the weather.
