West Highland Way

I have done a lot of walks in the Peak District Yorkshire Dales I am now moving to Scotland I going to start the West Highland Way in stages starting June 2014. I am going to follow the stages laid out on the web site any help with the first stage would be appreciated a little bit nervous as I will be on my own for the first time, my regular walking partner can not do overnight stays.

Hello Peter and welcome to the site.
The first stage of the WHW is well marked, as is all of it. You probably won't be on your own as this stage is near town and many people walk the area around Milngavie with dogs etc. The WHW being so popular you don't go far without finding someone to pass the time of day with.
I did the walk last year over 7 days, loved it and doing it again next year
