As Corbetts are seen as the "little" brothers of the Munros, has anyone else noticed that they seem to suffer from the hill (please don't get upset :silent: ) equivelent of "small man sindrome" in that they tend to be very steep, knackering, boggy S**s :eh: or is it just me being a grumpy, bald, middle aged knakered old fart

It is just you being a grumpy, bald middle aged knackered old fart. [Sorry! Couldn't resist that.] There are some wonderful Corbetts. - The 4 on Arran, the Cobbler, Foinaven, Arkle, etc. Of course, some of them are steep, knackering, boggy etc but so are some of the Munros.

i think I'm gonna give some of these a shot having done the Munros now ... seems to be a hell of a lot of really good Corbetts, Rum Cuillin, Skye ones, Beinn Dearg Mor and Bheag, in fact just about anything down the west coast...... yup think the Corbetts got me sucked in!

Yes there is a great deal more work to be done once the recovery is made from Munro-itis. :) Work which will take the determined visitor into areas where you are unlikely to rub shoulders with the Munros....Morven, Ardgour and Moidart. In days past I used to look out towards this area, across Loch Linnhe from Glencoe and Lochaber, having only visited Garbh Bheinn, until around ten years ago when the rest of the tops unfolded. For the big day baggers there are five Corbetts close to Tyndrum that will feel like a normal day out. :) Not forgetting the Torridons the Sutherland hills and the fruitful area between Ullapool and Assynt. Many others are tucked away in behind or nearby to what will now be familiar terrain to the 'big hill visitors'. It is also evident, from what can be read on here that many folks nowadays include all three of the main Scottish categories in a day out in the hills. :) Still not quite sure where all the wee Elsies are hidden away. :) We even shuffled past the one between Airigh Charr and Beinn Lair.
