blair atholl, train to edinburgh

Postby boeda » Thu Sep 12, 2013 10:34 pm

Hope somebody can help me. Mid october we're planning a 4 day. walk in the cairngorms, walking from aviemore to blair atholl.
We're flying to/from edinburgh (from amsterdam), and return sunday 20th october. But ut as it turns out trains don't run from blair atholl that particular day (website scotrail). Am i missing something and what are alternatives ( bus, taxi?).
We need to catch the plane in edinburgh at 5 pm. Hope for some tips...

You could try doing the walk from Blair Atholl to Aviemore. All trains stop at Aviemore, but only a few at Blair Atholl.
We did it that way & finished our walk early morning in Aviemore, leaving plenty of time to have a shower in the public toilets block before catching our train.
