Rogan's Seat: Distance 16.4km, climb 539m, time 3h 30m.
Rogan's Seat is one of the easiest hills to climb in the Yorkshire Dales, as it has a well maintained dirt track going all the way up to the summit. This is fortunate, because without the track it would be a long trudge through the bog and heather to get to an unimpressive summit - a small pile of stones in the middle of a flat boggy plateau.
There is a view from the top but it's mostly a view of more flat boggy hills.

As I'd done Rogan's Seat fairly quickly I now had time to bag another hill.
Lovely Seat: Distance 2.6km, climb 147m, time 50min.
I parked by the cattle grid at the top of Buttertubs Pass, which is only a short distance from the top of the hill.
After an unlovely bit of bog-trotting, the path along the fence line improves as you get higher up. The summit is better than Rogan's, as there's no doubt about where the top is, and there's a cairn shaped like a chair which you can sit on.
