There is a small parking area at the end of the minor road from Dunbeath just before Braemore Lodge. We went over the bridge, took a right then a left and followed the track. The track goes as far as Corrichoich before it becomes a more indestinct path. We now headed for Morven and started the steep climb up, crossing some boulder fields as we went. Just further round is a grassy route up, this was the route we came down on our way to Smean. We reached Smean with a wee easy scramble to its rocky summit, had lunch then made our way over to Maiden Pap. A steep short climb got us to the summit before we descended by the same route then contoured round to pick the track back up to the start. Three super wee hills these, all with their own distinctive charachter.

Aye, superb effort getting to 100 Subs and beyond JC - you put us mere mortals to shame!

Nice looking route, and one I researched and planned a couple of years back when we were up in Easter Ross but sadly never managed to fit in. Thanks for showing me what I missed out on!

Good pictures of interesting landscape. I remember seeing these from the A9 last year en route to Scrabster and thinking they could make a good walk. Thanks for the report.
