A LONG winters` walk in excellent conditions - me only , left Oskar at home in case lying snow caused a problem.
MWIs said 30% - turned out to be totally clear all day , no rain , no snow at all , result - after coming down off the summitt tor on Ben Avon the sun came out melting ALL the millions of icicle bits/things on the tor - the wind however up on the tor itself was horrific , i struggled up and had to wait a wee while to stand and take fotos - and im 16 stone !!
took some great fotos - put some on TH via FB , saw a really wierd thing though.......................................... on the way up via Gleann an t-Slugain a guy passed me - VERY SLOWLY on a MB , he was wearing jeans & training shoes - attatched to his green rucksack was quite a large proper wooden chair !!!! Not a cheapo Ikea type chair but a substantial wooden one , very unusual , i said Hi - he didn`t stop - but said Hi back - i exclaimed about his chair , all he said was the bike was hard work & kept going... eventually dissapearing out of view , later on i took the low route via the Fairy Glen just before here i saw the guy on the bike taking the high route above the glen ..........was he taking the chair to the secret howf in the glen ? Who knows i saw no sign of the howf & on return i took the higher route above the Fairy Glen & saw no sign of this howf at all - if it exits i think it must be a cave type thing ??
This was a great day out , last 1.5 hrs with a h-torch due to the lateness of the year
