I'm looking to get a women's jacket to use on the occasional wild camping trip. Obviously all the qualities you want a jacket to have are in tension with one another - low weight, low price, waterproof, windproof, breathable. There are some GoreTex ones like the Mountain Equipment Firefox (GoreTex Active Shell) that seem perfect except that a lot of people say they aren't durable enough when used with heavy packs. But I'd only use it like that for 2-3 weeks a year. So just how long
do they last? Are some GoreTex fabrics more durable than others? Thanks
