Braeriach and Cairn Toul Traverse

Braeriach and Cairn Toul Traverse

Postby Red17 » Fri Feb 28, 2014 7:51 am

Hello

Am off on holiday for 2 weeks in March and was planning this walk the last week in March weather permitting. I was wondering with conditions as they are could it be done in a day, or is it a little ambitious for this time of the year? Thanks.

Given the current amounts of snow, there's still likely to be lots in a month's time. It will depend a lot on the snow conditions at the time, which can change rapidly from day to day: you could really struggle in soft snow, or it could be firm and icy and fast going with crampons on. If you are up for 2 weeks, you'll be able to have a good idea what conditions are like from other walks.
