Ben Lomond conditions

Ben Lomond conditions

Postby bagpuss » Wed Apr 09, 2014 5:57 pm

Hi all,
Weather forecast permitting we were thinking about heading up Ben Lomond tomorrow. We've been up to around 850m this week in surrounding area & there's been no snow or ice, just very wet ground. Has anyone been onto Ben Lomond in the last week or so to know if the main path is snow free? We will be with my 10 year old daughter so would just turn around if the path was not possible. If the route still has snow on it we will probably choose a smaller hill. When we've been looking over to it this week it has looked like there is only snow in the gullys/steeps sides, but you can't see everything from afar..

Thanks in advance!

Had to give it a miss as I had a bad chest, but my partner went up there today - no snow on route aside from one small avoidable patch. Ended up on a tiny top called Whinney Hill instead.
