Started from Alva Glen car park and walked up Alva Glen as far as the main path goes, with viewpoint over Smuggler's Cave. Went through the gate which could take you back to Alva but then turned right up the steep slope of Torry to the top and onto the plateau. Walked on to Bengengie and the top here for a look round. Pretty good walking, only a few small boggy patches. I could see a track heading over towards Blairdenon, but it looked wet. Having plenty of time, just decided to walk over and see what it was like. It was pretty wet at Menstrie Moss, clue is in the name. However, managed to avoid any bad stuff and got back onto grass and the track. Cut off and headed straight up to Blairdenon.

Good views from up here, over both sides. Windy up here though, so headed back down aiming for Craighorn, hill on other side of burn. Steep drop down to avoid peat hags and wind. Stopped for lunch by the burn.

Climbed back up to the top of Craighorn. Forth valley visible again. All downhill back to the farm track above Alva Glen and back to the car park.
Good warm up for more walks.
