Must see's

Must see's

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some help....

My two Children (22 and 20) and I, are going to have a wee trip round Scotland for 10 days at the end of July, running up the East Coast from Edinburgh and down the West.

So far I'd like to take them to:
Durness
The Fairy Pools - Skye (and Skye in General)
Maybe pop over to some of the Islands - Mull, Harris, etc
Falls of Falloch

I'd like to make it as memorable a trip as possible and wondered if there was anywhere off the tourist track that you think we should see (including walks\hill climbs)?
We'll also be wild camping so would like to camp in the hills and on the beaches if you have any particularly good spots I'd be gratefule to hear of them.

Thanks for your help! :D

Such a long trip, and an island / several islands in just ten days? I wouldn't get halfway (then again, I am the kind that has to stop everywhere and look at everything).

The stacks of Duncansby are a nice sight, but hardly out of the tourist track :p They are by John o Groats:

The coastline north of Aberdeen (Newburgh) is nice if you have any beach- lovers with you

Thanks wwjd_kilden

You're right, it probably is a bit ambitious, but I don't intend to visit loads of Islands (if only I could), def Skye and maybe one or two others depending on where we end up getting to and how long it takes us to get there....

If was you I would bin the Western isles, not that they arent amazing, but I think you need at least two days to make Lewis and Harris worth it.

East Coast - Dunnotar Castle

West Coast - Coigach and Assynt Hills

Sandwood Bay. Not too far away from Durness.

Thanks scoob.
As it's only 10 days and as some others before you have mentioned, that's not a lot of time do get round AND do the western Isles, I'll peobably leave Mull out on this trip and save it for another day. Cape Wrath on the other hand looks a promising trip :D

Thanks Old Stag, Sandwood Bay looks stunning so will definately make a trip on the way

Thank you all for your suggestions, much appreciated!
