I began two weeks leave with two fractured toes which is just what one with restless syndrome needs. Anyway I took an opportunity to head up to Torridon after enjoying all the recent cracking images and reports posted by members. Ialso took some images which can be enlarged by clicking on them.
I parked at the “Horns access” car park above the Torridon Hotel. I had passed a few walkers with tights on their heads alerting me to get suited and booted in the car. I walked out to find a few generations of midgies had become instantly immune to skin so soft then set off up the Coire Mhic Nobaill at 1030.

I walked up past the waterfalls up to the second bridge before heading due east.

As there was no path I just headed up the direct route to the summit ridge with some opportunities for scrambling.

The going eased at the summit top and the views were immense.

The altimeter on the watch displayed 1145m..thought it was only 914m to top..note to self to find out how to adjust this, or it is going onto e bay.

The sun was out and the summit was clear so I sat for about 30 minutes allowing my feet to calm down. Captured some images..

I then headed NE eyeing the impressive ridge line of liathach..

and descended some nice scrambling sections on the ridge.

Then just above the green waters of Loch a Choire Mhoir I decided to pick a path down a south facing gulley to reach the pony path. The path led nicely back to the car at 1530.

Passed a couple of pretty birds but only one would sit for a photo..

Beinn Dearg was a cracking hill and its prominent central location provided a great vantage point to view the other more popular Torridon giants.

You had a great day there, SK. Really brilliant pics - I'm surprised you managed to get up and down so quickly with views like that all around you. Like the Cuillin, it's a place I don't think you can ever tire of.

When I did B Eighe and Liathach earlier this year I managed to stub my toes so many times I lost count because I simply couldn't keep my eyes on the ground (6 nails gone :( )

Beinn Dearg is a very fine hill....not been there for a long time...it is a fine grandstand for viewing the surrounding hills ( your images show this to be the case ) and is a very fine wee traverse in its own right. Note to get back there some time!
I'm putting in a bid for your digital watch :-) ....my Suunto one has been gobbling up battery power during the last three months....three replacements of batteries. Would welcome some thoughts on this problem from folks....maybe, could, some function be switched on without me being aware of this?

WOW... Speechless. What a mountain.

It's very high on my to-do list, has been for a long time. Shame it's not a Munro, but nevermind stupid statistics. Must be in TOP 10 best Corbetts. The view to Beinn Alligin is intriguing, the Horns from less popular angle.

I guess scrambling on the ridge is not difficult? I'm looking for good training ground before tackling AE ridge  Judging by your photos it's similar to the Horns?

Superb report on a magical hill. Love the photos of the back of Liathach - very special.

I was actually considering it for this weekend but I don't think the weather is going to cooperate. :(

Excellent! Went there in 1993 from Poca Buidhe but east to west. Seem to recall a lot of wobbly rocks on descending the west end and a great panorama from the flat high point. A great hill.

Alteknacker - Thanks, six nails gone that must have been sore..Would have stayed longer but thought bleak clouds were moving in and did not fancy slipping down..

Gaffr - ..not sure about the Sunita..I can say that the watch element of my gadget works well and the battery is sound. :o

JC - Cheers

Blackpanther - thanks, scrambling was fine and the wee down climbs were short but similar to some sections of the AE. Good luck when you both get there..On AE I felt it was easier if you faced into the rocks and downclimbed..

Annie - Thanks, photos not on par with your ones. Hopefully the weather forecasters are wrong for this weekend.

Scoob - Hope you and Fi enjoy it when you get there and I look forward to the video (my battery was flat lol)

Rockhopper- Cheers Neil, hopefully when you get back up here..

Colla - Thanks and hopefully you enjoy your trip to this one..

SavageAlice - Thanks Alice, we are fortunate to have Torridon so near to us...

Litljortindan - Cheers, yes some wobbly bits were still there..probably my knees..
