Took my bike incase I missed the train back but made it in plenty time – saved a bit of walking since I cycled along the track to the youth hostel. A brief shower on the way up Carn Dearg but it soon cleared up for a fine sunny day with fantastic views.
Saw 5 ptarmigan, a hawk (kestrel?), waders and a sandpiper beside loch Ossian. Went through the forestry and through the rocky crags up Beinn na Lap – a very nice descent on the grassy slopes to rejoin the track. Saw 2 jets heading over to the grey corries when I was waiting for the train. Great views past loch Treig on the train journey to and from Tulloch.
