Thanks, everyone, for all your comments - and support. I think this was my equivalent of falling off the horse and getting right back on it again (I had no choice!). No more gullies for me, for a while anyway.

My knee will take a while to heal so I'll be house-bound for a couple more weeks at least. I'm going to give the bike a go at the weekend though.

Looks like it was great fun! Excellent pix as per usual.

I wish I'd spent more time poking around Coire Mhic Fhearchair when I was there.

BTW the route I took up to Liathach (that you asked me about in my WR on the Crianlarich Munros) is the gully you can see on your pic 9, running up at a sharp angle to Stuc a'Choire Dhuibh Bhig

Epic  omg
That's a true adventure, as you say it's a great feeling when the gods let us escape when we bite off a big chunk to chew on
There is a photo on google earth of someone making their way up the gulley in the snow, which I suspect would be a whole lot easier.
Some gash, well done for doing it.
All the best...

I'm not sure 'fun' is the applicable word but it sure was a great adventure!

Thanks for the info on Liathach. I think I'll give it a miss for now.

Thanks, ancancha. I knew it was a winter gully and a couple of guys even skied down it but nobody fool enough to do it in the summer in the rain - until now.

I guess you were blessed by the gods in that they left you an ice axe
Even with the gods or angels on your side I thought it was courageous

I always wondered if it was possible to go UP this gully. Hmmm, I think I give this one a miss... I had one knee injury in 2011 and don't fancy another one

Funny, when my sister saw the picture of Morrison's Gully, she called it "the a** end of Beinn Eighe"

Glad you made it down all right, the misty photos look very scary!

BP, that made me laugh - feels like that's where you are too!

BTW, the ascent on the right of the Buttresses was very straight-forward on a grassy (steepish) path and it takes you to the bealach between Coinneach Mor and Sail Mhor. The Ugly Step (Ceum Grannda) up to CM looked scary to me but that was from a distance. It would be necessary to do it for the whole ridge though. I'm sure you won't have a problem with it - I think it's classed as a Grade 2 scramble.
