Companions - Alan MacRae, Angela Reilly Morven Mitchell (part of walk Alex Robertson)
Met at Angela's for 8am, Alan provided transport down to just beyond Moffat. Onto track for 9.30 interesting escarpment almost wahed away in places. Left Alex at the junction of the Southern Upland Way, he headed off down the track to Moffat and waited in the pub for us. First hill Croft Head via a zig zag track, retraced steps then followed the marked way for the long plod to Ettrick Pen. Weather remained dry but overcast and cold at times. Finally once more back to the way then steady climb up Capel Fell, back to the car for 4pm. Drink with Alex in Moffat, home for 6pm.
