Pier at Rowardennan

Started off reasonably promisingly! Stopped for elevenses while it was still relatively dry

Started raining thereafter, high winds added to the cold and the views from the top were unrewarding for our efforts!

Had a well deserved lunch at top in the rain, still pleased with ourselves that we carried on whilst watching a few who turned back! At least it wasn't busy.

Walked back down briskly as the mist cleared a little at lower level.

Having seen some photos of the recent walks up Ben Lomond in autumn am very jealous- and have vowed to return in brighter conditions!

Sorry, our weather wasn't kinder to you, Tibo, but at least it seems to have pushed you on to a good time and you managed to get there!

It's disappointing when the weather closes in but at least you got some views from the top. My last hill was Ben More on Mull and despite a good forecast we saw nothing at all! 8)

Welcome to the (usually!) fair weather walker club! I joined years ago after driving to the north to climb Ben Klibreck. The weather steadily deteriorated on my way up, the wind so strong I had to crawl on my hands and knees. Then in my haste to get lower, I came off further from my car than I had planned. Not good.
The following day I walked up Cul Mor, lighter winds and below cloud level - a much happier experience!
Still it can be really frustrating to earmark diary days for hillwalking - only to find the weather does not cooperate!!!

Crawling on hands and knees sounds a step too far for me! You are obviously made of hardy stuff!!!
