It's easy to understand why Robbie Burns was so taken with this walk. It is a beautiful circular route which is enjoyable from start to finish. Information boards in the upper car park give a brief history of the walk, the route and details of the flora and fauna you may encounter. The route itself is clearly waymarked and you are greeted by welcome "surprises" at every turn. It is a very popular walk but this shouldn't detract at all from your enjoyment. There are some steeps stairs in places but seats are also provided here and there.
Finally, read the poem, take the walk and enjoy!
