Boots fitment question

Boots fitment question

Postby doggy » Sat Nov 08, 2014 10:47 pm

Thanks to another member i managed to get myself a pair of Mammut Monolith for £103, but I'm not sure of the sizing. This is a bit of a silly question and I kind off know the answer already but I juat wanted to run it by evryone in here first.

So my left foot is a fraction bigger than my right foot. Now when I'm wearing the size 9 boots my left foot is snug, quite snug and my wee toe is feeling a bit of pressure.
With the size 9 and a half I have a bit more room. I've tried heavy winter socks and liner socks with summer socks over them, all are a bit tight on the left.

So whats the best way to fit boots? Go outdoors aren't much use.

Thanks.

Alos, they're B2 boots so will be used in the winter time.

My left foot is bigger too, quick Google suggests this could be common for right-handed folk. You can compensate (socks, insoles) for boots that are slightly too big, but not slightly too small so I always make sure the bigger foot has the best fit. If it's too snug this could lead to strain/blisters further down the line. Your toes shouldn't hit the front of the boot on a downward slope or when you kick something, if your little toe is squeezed against the side you could get blisters/lose a nail. Andy Kirkpatrick has boot advice, it's aimed at climbers but relevant for B2 winter boots.
