New boots

New boots

Postby sonic » Sun Dec 28, 2014 7:00 pm

Hi folks,
I know this is a question that has been asked dozens of times before but I am now in the market looking for replacement boots. Got a pair of north ridge boots from go outdoors that are on their way out and consigned to dog walking. Was hoping for some ideas, tried on merrell and anatom today and they both felt comfy but never had my size, got a budget I could squeeze to £150.
Just wondering on peoples first choice of boot and why
Thanks Sonic :problem:

Everything depends on the fit, for me in that price range it would be Salomon Comet 3D, or the Quest 4D, very light 3 season boots which unlike Scarpa fit my feet!

Try anything and everything you can on, late in the day, and then make your choice based on comfort :)

go back into go outdoors abd try on all the boots, pick your fav and hunt the internet for a good deal, then go back to go and ask for a price match.

As above, fit is everything.
Salomon are very comfy, leather boots are long lasting etc
Gore tex lining works, but not forever.
But, your foot is individual, and needs a good fitting.
Try on and find what you like.
Hunt the internet for good prices.
Usually stores will price match as they can't compete otherwise. Especially if they know you.
Good luck.

New boots! I have scarpa manta's and I give them 5+ stars and would recommend them to anyone for an all terain vehicle for the feet. They take crampons well and hold you up in the pub. Only downside is heavy for very long summer walks over the hills
